Title Skid Steer Operator

Job Information

Saunders Landscaping is looking to hire a full-time skid steer operator to start at the end of April (weather dependent). Our crews work Monday-Friday, and occasional Saturdays. Most of the jobs will be on commercial construction sites; however, there will be some residential jobs.

The position starts at $25.00/hour, however, advancement is possible if you display a strong work ethic.

You must to be able to drive to site(s) daily, have a hard hat, and steel toed boots. Shorts and tank tops are prohibited, you must wear pants and shirts that cover your shoulders at all sites. The sites are located in Calgary and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform equipment inspections.
  • Perform assigned work on schedule, and as directed.
  • Operate equipment in a safe and effective manner while avoiding damage to company and other property.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of landscaping, such as fine grading and spreading of topsoil.
  • Conduct work in accordance with OH&S requirements.
  • Be prepared to assist crews with physical tasks if skid steer work is completed onsite.

What you need to be considered:

  • Require a minimum of 5 years experience operating skid steers.
  • Must be able to operate both track and tire equipment safely and professionally.
  • Ability to communicate with crew members, foreman, and other trades.
  • Ability to prioritize work in order to meet tight deadlines.
  • Good eye/hand coordination.
  • Physical ability to handle prolonged sitting, jostling in the cab and getting in and out of a skid steer.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Reliable, punctual, possess a positive attitude, and a team player.
  • Other construction and safety training considered an asset.
